The national park
Saint Claude national park, Guadeloupe
05 90 80 86 00
The park is managed by the National Forest Office (ONF), as the majority of
its surface is covered with public forest. The area offers 300 km of
footpath (signposted and regularly checked), 10 picnic spots and museums
presenting the park’s natural riches (Maison de la Foret, du Volcan..)
Situated in the mountains in the heart of Basse-Terre, it expands on over 17
300 hectares, displaying a multitude of forests from more humid (rainforest)
to more and more barren[...] |

| Corossol A couple of minutes away from Gustavia lies the tiny village of Corossol, where elderly women perform the traditional acts of latan-palm weaving and basketwork. The village is a pretty sight, with its unique accent, colourful boats, simple little houses and beautiful surroundings. Don’t miss the Shellfish Museum if you’re in town.
Vitet volcano
Take the time to visit this mountain at least once during your stay. Climbing to the top of the volcano (281m), you can marvel at a[...] |

MESOPOTAMIA VALLEY
Fertile and generous…
A marvellously rich valley as abundant as its name suggests, lush with
magnificent glens of coconut palm, banana tree, cocoa as well as peanuts,
hazelnuts and other varieties of stone fruit…A multitude of small
plantations nest in the fertile soil of the valley. The view is simply
magnificent in this region of the islands, dominated by the greenness of its
crops and the silhouette of its mountains. The highest peak, Mount Grand
Bonhomme (954m) is definitely worth the slight detour.

Natural sites
The splendour of Saint Lucia beckons the visitor and remains with him or her, then
the visitor becomes quite frankly aware of nature properly speaking,
and of the preservation and research concerning the multiple ecosystems that
make up its fauna and flora …

| Natural Sites
Dominica is unique. It is THE island for adventure lovers and lovers of green leisure activities. A large choice of escapades is waiting just for you: waterfalls, rivers, lakes, fauna and flora that will take your breath away.
For the most adventurous escapades, just ask the tourist bureau to provide you with the list of authorised guides. There is now a special school where guides are trained just for this
Roseau and the surrounding area BOTANICAL GARDENS.
It was created back in 1889. The royal government[...] |

SABA Tropical forest is for Saba what
beaches are for Anguilla.
Mt Scenery Whether you prefer
to arrive by boat or plane (this latter option being simply spectacular),
the general view of the island is a breathtaking experience you’ll never
forget, particularly when the peak of Mt Scenery is enveloped in clouds: a
real Hollywood-style cliché. You will no doubt have the impression you’re in
Dominica (North of Martinique) or Saint Vincent (Grenadines).
SAINT-KITTS & NEVIS
Redonda. A wild, barren, ghost-like[...] |

REGIONAL NATURAL PARK
The particularity of this park is that it is not laid out on one sole block of land, but is fractioned between the north-west and the south by a transversal drain which includes Fort de France. These two main regions are complemented by the Caravelle peninsula in the central-eastern part on the island, which, along with Saint Anne, was the first land formation of the island eighteen million years ago. The park stretches out over a total surface of 700 km2, which accounts for more than two thirds of Martinique’s total territory.[...] |

| Saint Martin natural reserve
The principal goal of this natural reserve is to be
an integral part in Saint Martin’s global development policy. It acts as a
main factor in the conservation of the biological and cultural patrimony, on
a local as well as on an international level, and serves also as a tool for
the island’s social, cultural, scientific and economic development.
The reserve’s statutory measures (prohibition of
hunting, fight against pollution…) are not set to limit the inhabitants of
the island in their liberty. On the contrary,[...] |

The island’s countless roads meander through the wild vegetation, gorged with the fragrance of essential oils (cinnamon wood, red-flowering gum, soapberry). Flowers are scarce, but the shade of coconut trees above the white and sandy beaches is a guarantee in itself for the dose of exotism you are looking for. Visitors can choose between taking the coastal road which lines Saint Louis Bay with its tiny fishing boats, or the country road in the direction of Capesterre.

Charming is the word that best describes Terre-de-Haut.. Its
welcoming arc-shaped bay and its “Pain de Sucre”, a longish sentry striped
by streaks of basalt flows gives the island a mini-Rio de Janeiro atmosphere
at first sight. One day is more than enough if you only wish to go around
the island, though its magnificent beaches, ravishing natural sites and the
warm welcome of its small hotels incite you to stay longer if possible. The
exotic taste of the island’s inhabitants is visible in their architecture:
small red roofed houses circle the bay[...] |
