Nightlife
The sun sets quite early in the West Indies, at around 6 pm. Nightlife in
bars and discos is actually rather restricted, as people prefer to spend the
evenings at home in the company of their friends. In the months of July and
August, however, they go out significantly more often; zouks are organized
in the streets, with the participation of all local celebrity zouk groups.
At night, the only well-lit places in certain villages are churches and
cemeteries. Night clubs are of a local style, offering a spicy blend of

| Discover Saint Martin : Nightlife Nightlife
Nightlife on Saint Martin is as rich and diverse as can be, a delight
for night owls who like a good party. The island by night offers two faces,
similarly to its divided nature in daytime.
Marigot and Oriental Bay are the centre of French nightlife, with an
atmosphere resembling that of the mainland: form and style are of great
importance, contacts are friendly and service is often professional and of
high quality. Life is rather calm in these parts, especially the
weekends….even too calm[...] |

The “nightclub” concept is a rather recent one in Fort de France, and places showing concerts of West Indian groups attract an increasing number of clients of all ages. Music life is soaring, new groups emerge day by day, and locals progressively leave their homes in the evenings to see a concert or two a week instead of staying at home and watching TV.
We would strongly advise you to be prudent when walking the downtown streets at night, as certain areas have a rather bad reputation. Do not leave anything visible in your car, and park under[...] |

| Nightlife Confirmed clubbers will certainly find Saint Barth rather calm, especially if they are arriving from Saint Martin. It is definitely not Ibiza, but there still are a couple of trendy places to choose from to have a drink or eventually party all night.
Some restaurants dispose of a lounge bar, open for aperitifs after dinner, with the possibility of running into some pleasant musical animation: these bars are the K’Fe Massai in Lorient, the Ti St Barth on Milou point, and Mandala in the outskirts of Gustavia.

| Many activities such as concerts, plays and exceptional events take place all year round on many occasions. You'll find all the information you need in the local weekly newspapers. Some of the programmes that take place in Roseau are published on the Internet on the Delphis site: “Events in Dominica”. Your hotel's reception desk and the tourist bureau will provide you with additional information. The Creole Music Festival takes place every year at the end of October.

| Bars in Rodney Bay
A party atmosphere that reigns on this island. "Night owls" will certainly find here a large selection of bars, night clubs and various places to spend an all night out.
Friday Night at Gros-Ilets
Every Friday night, from 21 h to 2 h, the village of Gros-Islet
parties. There is street dancing, at a crossing where enormous amplifiers
pump out reggae and ragamuffin. Grilled chicken abounds, as well as
Piton, Saint Lucia's pale ale. A little further on,
Rastas jam-packed into the darkness of a nightclub.

Nightlife
Eveningtime is rather quiet on Marie Galante, locals rise with the sun and consequently go to bed accordingly. Don’t miss out on discovering a few characteristic places, though.
