There are many diving sites in the North, West and Southern coasts, around Portsmouth, Middle Ground (great savannah) and Scott’s Head. You can find coral reefs here (submarine walls) and shipwrecks. The fish that you'll see here are identical to all of those in the Caribbean and are very plentiful because Dominica has a pollution rate that is almost zero! Dominica is said to be the capital of skin diving in the Lesser Antilles and the island is also called "the aquatic island ". Underwater trails have been mapped out at Douglas Bay in the Cabrits National Park and you'll also see wreckage from old sailing ships, with steel hulls as well as a gunboat dating back to World War II: on the site of Toucari and Capucin. Above Roseau, at Rodney’s Rock, you'll find some very rare purple coral as well as a multitude of tropical fish: batfish, seahorses, flying fish and the frog fish and all the colours that go with it. While flipping your fins, you'll come up face to face with skate and turtles! Leisures
