Telephone
You can purchase telephone cards from the « Cable & wireless » company. They are located just behind the post office and right next to the landing pier. There is also a telephone card distributor outside the tourist bureau. On site, you'll find telephone booths that work with Cable & Wireless cards or booths that operate with bank cards and « Orange » booths which have been installed recently. Please note: French mobile telephones now work here since the Orange company set up shop a few months ago. Be careful however about « roaming » charges which can be very expensive! You pay for incoming and outgoing calls and the rates are very expensive! It is better to hire a telephone from Cable & Wireless is you want to be able to be reached.
