Singer who became famous following a duet with Johnny Hallyday and as a first act before a concert tour of Michel Sardou at the Olympia.

Joëlle Ursull (1960 Pointe-à-Pitre)

Originally from the group Zouk Machine, she became internationally known after winning second prize at the Eurovision festival in 1990 with a song composed by Serge Gainsbourg.

Kassav

A music group founded by two Guadeloupeans, Pierre-Edouard Décimus and Jacob Devarieux, founders of the “zouk” phenomenon. The group was a debut for singers Jocelyne Béroard, Jean-Philippe Marthély et Patrick Saint-Eloi. They celebrated their 20h anniversary in 1999 with a huge concert at Bercy.
