Nightlife on Martinique : Going outVous êtes ici : West Indies> Martinique> Entertainment : Night Life Going out on Martinique : Nightlife
The “nightclub” concept is a rather recent one in Fort de France, and places showing concerts of West Indian groups attract an increasing number of clients of all ages. Music life is soaring, new groups emerge day by day, and locals progressively leave their homes in the evenings to see a concert or two a week instead of staying at home and watching TV. We would strongly advise you to be prudent when walking the downtown streets at night, as certain areas have a rather bad reputation. Do not leave anything visible in your car, and park under street lamps whenever possible. The area of the Levassor canal, where most discos are located, is guarded by night watchmen, and is consequently less dangerous. No need to fear for your life, but pay a minimum attention to your security, and especially ladies should avoid taking smaller alleys alone at night: have someone walk you to your car whenever possible.
Late night restaurants
Nightclubs and discosNight owls will be a bit disappointed on Martinique, as the only place open till really late is the ever-full Karaoke, located in the Jambette industrial zone.
