Off the beaten track by Jeep or Quad

Nothing equals a day trip by Jeep or Quad for those dreaming to see all that lies beyond the beaten track… without getting too tired. Service prodivers propose offers including transport by Jeep, a guide and lunch.

You can choose between two basic circuits: the North and the South. All you need to do is get up early in the morning (trails leave at 7.30-8 a.m.) and off you go on this fabulous adventure. After leaving Fort de France, you will take the route of Trace, which leads you into the heart of the tropical forest. A short but refreshing break is often proposed at the Gorges de la Falaise (a magnificent place to swim, so don’t forget your swimming trunks), in the commune of Ajoupa Bouillon, where you will wade through the river and listen to detailed descriptions of the flora and fauna. After this point, your itinerary mostly depends on the company you have chosen, but the most typical circuit leads towards the north Caribbean coast and Saint Pierre on the lovely little road of Fonds Saint Denis. Lunch will be served in a local restaurant before continuing your journey in the afternoon with a couple of stops here and there (such as visiting a distillery for example), and finally arriving back to your departure point. Itineraries may vary from one service provider to the next, but the general concept tends to remain the same.

The “South Caribbean” circuit will acquaint you with the fabulous beaches of this region, passing through Troir Rivieres and the countryside around Marin and Sainte Anne. Lunchbreak is often taken on a magnificent beach where you will definitely need to take a swim too. Tariffs vary around an average of 70€ per person for a whole day by jeep.
