Entrance fee: 5 US$ (12 EC$), the price includes access to the Haratio
Nelson Museum.
The building itself is a stone edifice, severely simple in style, maintained
by the Nevis Historical and Conservation Society. History, culture and
natural heritage of Alexander Hamilton’s island are exhibited within its
walls. (Hamilton, first Secretary of Treasury of the United States of
America was born in Nevis in 1757.) The first museum hosts the archives and
library of the Nevis Historical and Conservation Society, and the
legislative branch of the island’s government holds its sessions in the
meeting room on the first floor. If you are interested in the life of
Alexander Hamilton, his father’s house can be tracked down in the higher
