A couple of minutes away from Gustavia lies the tiny village of Corossol, where elderly women perform the traditional acts of latan-palm weaving and basketwork. The village is a pretty sight, with its unique accent, colourful boats, simple little houses and beautiful surroundings. Don’t miss the Shellfish Museum if you’re in town.
Take the time to visit this mountain at least once during your stay. Climbing to the top of the volcano (281m), you can marvel at a perfect view of the entire island, most particularly the rough coasts of the North West.
Lorient is an important crossroads towards the eastern areas of the island. The town owes its name to Breton pioneers who first planted their flag in the region. Sites to see include the beautiful little cemetery and church.
