Formalities
Citizens of the European Union can enter Saint Barth on possession of a valid identity card, though please note that your driver’s licence is not accepted as valid identification.
Citizens of other countries must hold a passport and eventually a visa, depending on their nationality. A visa valid for Metropolitan France may not be sufficient for the overseas territories, and a special extension may be necessary at times. Ask around at the tourist office or at the Border Police in case of doubt (05 90 29 76 76).

Transporting animals
No specific vaccination is necessary, but you will need to show the animal’s anti-rabies justification, and a health certificate of less than five days old. Animals travelling with French tourists must also be in possession of the obligatory tattoo.

6 hours in summer and 5 in winter.
How to pack your bags?
What sort of clothes to bring? Summer clothes all year round, such as swimming suits and T-shirts… If you will be staying at a grand hotel, do plan to dress accordingly, though tuxedoes are usually not necessary.
