Friday Night at Gros-IletsEvery Friday night, from 21 h to 2 h, the village of Gros-Islet parties. There is street dancing, at a crossing where enormous amplifiers pump out reggae and ragamuffin. Grilled chicken abounds, as well as Piton, Saint Lucia's pale ale. A little further on, Rastas jam-packed into the darkness of a nightclub. « Friday Night » attracts many visitors from Martinique. The atmosphere is not however as extraordinary as the regulars would have it. Some even say that the festival, over visited by tourists, no longer has the charm of the local music from yesteryear.
