Marriage Honeymoon Dominica: Practical info

Many of the hotel structures offer marriage and honeymoon packages. Some hotels have private rooms and suites for couples that want an indoor ceremony rather than an outdoor one. Newlyweds easily obtain special treatment when they arrive, such as a bowl of local fruit, bouquet of flowers, bottle of champagne or wine.

Required documents. The following is a list of the original documents that must be provided by the future newlyweds before the ceremony (documents in a foreign language must be translated into English).

• Currently valid passport
• Birth certificate
• In the event of divorce, divorce papers or similar document
• For widows and widowers, a death certificate for the deceased spouse
• In the case a name has been changed, provide an official act of name change
• If one of the spouses is a minor, provide a notarised act of consent from the parents or legal guardian
  

Required length of stay. Marriage requests on Saint Lucia must be filed by one of the island's notaries and sent to the of the attorney general's office who will prepare and sign the marriage certificate after a minimum stay of two days on Saint Lucia.
